Magnesium oxide is an ionic oxide of magnesium, white solid at ambient temperature. It exists naturally as periclase and serves as raw material for magnesium smelting. Fine white powder, odorless. Depending on production method, it is categorized into light magnesium oxide and heavy magnesium oxide.
Light magnesium oxide is chemically synthesized product with high purity, pure white color and loose volume, white amorphous powder.
Heavy magnesium oxide is mineral calcined product, mostly beige.
Based on different sintering temperature, heavy magnesium oxide includes light-burned powder and heavy-burned powder. Heavy-burned powder is used for high-temperature resistant materials. Light-burned powder contains desulfurization powder and building material powder.
